Sam Stimmel started working in golf course maintenance almost 50 years ago. He received his formal education in Turfgrass Management at Penn State. After graduation, he became a golf course superintendent and was involved in the construction and/or renovation of 3 courses. He moved into the sales and technical support area working at the ProTurf division of The Scotts Company, Kurtz Bros. Inc., Director of Profile Products, General Manager of Murrysville Machinery Company, and AQUA-AID Solutions. His entire career has revolved around the plant nutrition and soil physical properties. He is a firm believer in the success to providing superior playing surfaces starts with a strong foundation and this is typically out of sight and out of mind.
