Tom Fisher, PhD

Dr. Fisher has devoted much of his professional career at UMCES to educating graduate students and investigating terrestrial and aquatic systems within the basins of Atlantic estuaries and the Amazon River floodplain. His expertise includes atmospheric deposition, historical land use changes, stream water quality, nutrient processing in streams and estuaries, and primary productivity. His core interest revolves around how land use and human activities impact the water quality of streams and their effects on downstream receiving waters, such as the Chesapeake Bay.
