Craig Burton
Innovator in Solar-Powered Pond Aeration, PondHawk
Since 2009, Craig Burton has pioneered pond aeration solutions, culminating in creation of PondHawk® (U.S. Pat. No. 9,290,398). This solar-powered, subsurface aeration system significantly improves water quality in ponds, lakes, and lagoons.
Craig developed PondHawk® to tackle issues in his 30-plus-year-old pond, plagued by toxic algae blooms and stagnation. Discovering that subsurface aeration was key; he leveraged his off-grid solar expertise to design a system that bypasses the need for batteries.
Thanks to PondHawk®, Craig's pond now thrives with fish, frogs, turtles, and a blue heron.
Craig's career in solar energy includes designing off-grid photovoltaic systems in Africa, South America, and Asia. He led strategic marketing for the Brilliance residential solar appliance at GE Energy. His fluency in Spanish and Portuguese facilitated his work in developing solar products for remote regions in South America.
Born in Brazil to American parents, Craig has utilized his diverse background to make significant contributions to the field of solar energy.
